Has anyone read "American Psycho"? I was immediately reminded of Patrick Bateman when Montressor immaculately describes what Fortunato is wearing in "The Cask of Amontillado," and his actions follow suit with the similarity
I definitely see the similarities of Bateman and Montrssor, although I found that Bateman's killings were focused more in the mind. In the same way that we focus on details when we lie, Bateman goes into details with the kills that weren't physically established. When he was blunt with his killings, he was telling the truth. He tried to add depth and colour to the killings that were achieved in his mind.
