Question
#1
I chose
to read little red hat because I thought it had a lot of interesting concepts;
I liked the fact that they used an ogre in the version instead of using the all
too familiar wolf. I found that in this version and perraults version LRRH is
very oblivious she doesn’t see anything wrong with the ogre going to her grandmother’s
house, she even continues to take her time and pick flowers instead of just
walking directly there. I find it interesting that the author used a sense of
cannibalism in this version little red hat eats her grandmother’s teeth, jaws
and drinks her blood all without even realizing it. We discussed in class that
LRRH could be a cautionary tale to warn young women against men who seem nice
and friendly but also to pay attention to your surroundings which personally
think would have saved LRRH life in both little red hat and perraults version
of LRRH
Question

Little
red hat doesn’t seem to have any internal conflict the story is very simple and
doesn’t go into in depth detail of the internal conflicts she could have been
having and the external conflict between the ogre and little red hat comes at
the very end when he eats her.

It is very interesting how the version "Little Red Hat" used an ogre instead of a wolf! I have actually never heard of this version before. It seems this version of the fairy tale has more of a horror sense since the ogre eats the grandmothers teeth and uses cannibalism to help portray the moral in this fairy tale. Maybe that is why he used an ogre since they considered more of an intimidating character rather than a wolf.
