I feel like the only good writing is when the author can find a passion in their subject matter. Yes September eleventh affected us all and I'm sure most of us still recall where exactly we ended up that morning. Thus i feel that it is your responsibility, as a writer, to write about anything that causes you to be passionate. If this day, ten years ago, changed the way you live, be it with a new sense of fear or with the death of a loved one, then yes, by all means you should let the world into your mind.
